Additional Services
MedFab extends its expertise beyond machining, offering additional manufacturing solutions to support your complete production needs. Our custom solutions may involve specialty or niche methods ranging from non-traditional extractive machining techniques to additive processes. This streamlines the process because our clients don’t have to deal with multiple vendors for each project.
EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) — Unlike traditional subtractive machining methods, which use mechanical cutting tools to remove material from a solid workpiece, EDM removes material by applying small, intense electrical charges along a precise cutting path. The various types of EDM can be used to create highly intricate, complex parts that could never be machined by conventional cutting tools.
Additive/3D Printing — MedFab’s 3D printing services are ideal for rapid prototyping, small production runs, custom parts, on-demand parts, and other services where quality and precision are critical, but quantities and/or time are limited.
Plastic Injection Molding — For high-quality molded components with tight tolerances, including surgical instruments, diagnostic tools, and other parts requiring efficient production of complex shapes, plastic injection molding offers material versatility and cost efficiency with high-volume production capacity.
Metal Injection Molding — Metal injection molding economically produces high-volume, highly precise, complex parts. Various metals and metal powders can be used, allowing for broad customization and versatility. Smaller, more intricate parts can be made quickly and cost-effectively than traditional machining.
Cast Urethane — Urethane casting is a fast and cost-effective production method, useful for prototyping and low-volume runs of complex parts. It also boasts beneficial properties such as biocompatibility and strong resistance to chemicals, solvents, heat, and abrasion.
Stamping — Metal stamping is ideal for high-volume production of small, intricate parts with tight tolerances. With techniques like progressive-die and deep-draw stamping, MedFab can produce complex parts quickly and with consistent quality. Stamping makes MedFab an excellent choice for prototyping and production runs with fast turnarounds.
Sheet Metal Forming—Formed sheet metal components can be seamlessly integrated with MedFab’s laser cutting, welding, machining, and finishing processes, allowing you to streamline your supply chain and reduce lead times.
Sheet Metal Laser Cutting — Precision-cut parts with clean, intricate designs are possible with the exceptional accuracy and minimal thermal distortion of sheet metal laser cutting.
